Governanace

The Center for Public Violence Recovery is a program of the Village Life Company, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization which is governed by an board of directors.  

An advisory council provides subject-specific expertise and guidance for each Village Life Company program.

The Rev. Dr. Art Cribbs is the executive director of The Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity a California statewide faith-based organization, that advocates immigrant rights, quality education, and health care. For 18 years he has been an ethics instructor to police chiefs, sheriffs, and commanders for the California Dept of Justice Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Executive Development Course.

The Rev. Dr. Mark W. Johnson is the lead pastor of Towson United Methodist Church in Towson, MD. He has served churches in Maryland and Colorado. While in CO, he served communities impacted by public violence and volunteered as a chaplain in both medical and law enforcement settings.

Susan Kim, chairs the board for the Village Life Company. A former editor of the online Disaster News Network, Susan is a prolific writer who covers social justice, faith-based and humanitarian aid organizations, disaster response and recovery, outdoor recreation and business news.

The Rev. Rich Robinson is the Senior Chaplain and  Executive  Director of  the  Coastal  Crisis  Chaplaincy in South Carolina,  where  he  serves  as  a  crisis chaplain to approximately 50 area agencies.

The Rev. Jim Skillington, executive director of the Center and a founder of the Village Life Company, is that rare visionary with an eye for practical details. He has devoted his more than 40-year career to expanding effective communications for faith-based and other nonprofit organizations. In addition to guiding the Center, he is the lead pastor of the Morgan Chapel United Methodist Charge in Woodbine, MD. 

Ellis M. Stanley, Sr., is Managing Partner of Ellis Stanley Partners, LLC and Chairman of the Global Board of the International Association of Emergency Managers. He has more than 40 years of emergency management experience.
